Wallet Service
Tradesasa offers our Hosted BTC Wallet and KES Wallet Service free of charge. You will therefore incur zero cost for storing your KES and cryptocurrency assets on our platform. You can store any cryptocurrency supported by Tradesasa. Currently, we only support Bitcoin (BTC). We have plans of supporting other cryptocurrencies in the future.
Cryptocurrency Transactions
Tradesasa customers can:
Send/Receive Transactions
We do not charge for transferring BTC from one Tradesasa wallet to another. Tradesasa incurs and pays network transaction fees, such as miner's fees, for transactions on cryptocurrency networks (i.e., transfers of cryptocurrency off the Tradesasa platform). For such transactions, Tradesasa will charge you a fee based on our estimate of the network transaction fees that we anticipate to pay for the transaction. An estimate of all fees that you will be charged will be disclosed at the time of the transaction.
Receiving BTC on Tradesasa is free of charge.
Buy/Sell Transactions
When you request a BTC transaction, Tradesasa will attempt to fill that order through one or more orders on Tradesasa's trading platform. Tradesasa establishes the exchange rate for BTC transactions ("consumer exchange rate") by adding a margin, or spread (the "spread"), to the market exchange rate for BTC. Tradesasa also charges a separate fee (in addition to the spread) a flat fee based on the transaction amount, as further described below in the section entitled Buy/Sell Fees.
Tradesasa reserves the right to reject a transaction if Tradesasa is unable to fill a corresponding order due to changes in the market price of BTC, or an order timing out due to slow server response time. In some circumstances, the BTC exchange rate may not be available due to outages or scheduled maintenance. In order to provide you with uninterrupted service at such times, we may derive market pricing data from unaffiliated currency exchanges.
Buy/Sell Fees
Tradesasa charges a spread of about one-half of one percent (0.50%) for BTC purchases and BTC sales. We also charge a Tradesasa Fee (in addition to the spread), which is a flat fee determined by transaction amount. The flat fees by transaction amount are set forth below.
Min (Ksh) | Max (Ksh) | Fee (Ksh) |
0 | 1000 | 33 |
1001 | 2500 | 50 |
2501 | 5000 | 67 |
5001 | 20000 | 100 |
20001 | Max limit | 167 |
For example, if you wish to purchase 1000/= worth of Bitcoin, the total fee would be 38/= i.e., the sum of the flat fee of 33/=, and one-half percent (0.5%) of 1000/= which is 5/=. No other fees would be charged to you for this transaction.
KES Transactions
In addition to BTC transactions, Tradesasa customers can also deposit and withdraw from their Hosted KES Wallet. At the moment, we only support MPESA as the mode of transacting with your Hosted KES Wallet. Depositing into your KES Wallet is free of charge. The fee for withdrawing is as follows.
Min (Ksh) | Max (Ksh) | Fee (Ksh) |
0 | 1000 | 25 |
1001 | 5000 | 38 |
5001 | Max limit | 50 |
